SUTEE IoT prototype

Name

SUTEE IoT prototype

Type

Hardware and Android mobile app

Description

The SUTEE IoT prototype involves 3 main modules:

  1. An electronic prototype, based on an Arduino Nano board that reads data from several environmental sensors, such as temperature, humidity, CO2, and pollutants in the air (CH20, TVOC, PM2.5 and PM10). A white 3D printed case was specially created for this prototype with the SUTEE logo. This electronic board requires it to be powered by a power bank.
  2. An Android app that wirelessly connects to the sensor via Bluetooth Low Energy. This app allows users to take samples of temperature, humidity, CO2 and air pollutants in different points of an excursion. The use of the app is very simple. The participant first has to click on “connect sensor” to connect the mobile app with the sensor. Then start a new excursion by writing its name. Once the excursion has been created, the participant just needs to take samples along its excursion by clicking the button “Get data”.
  3. Dashboard platform. Once the user has gathered several samples in an excursion, the data is sent to an on-line platform that shows the results in a map, also providing different kinds of graphics, thus representing the data in a temporal and spatial way.
