Welcome to SUTEE!
Showcasing Urban Trees for Environmental Education with
IoT Technology. SUTEE is an ERASMUS+ Strategic Cooperation Partnership in the field of school education project.
We are thrilled to share that members of the SUTEE – Showcasing Urban Trees for Environmental Education with IoT Technology project have recently published a new peer-reviewed article in the journal Sensors. This publication represents a significant step forward in exploring how digital tools and data can support environmental awareness and sustainability in urban contexts—core pillars of the SUTEE initiative.
The study presents a comprehensive analysis of IoT-enabled bike-sharing systems and their potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in urban environments. By combining real-time data collection, predictive modelling, and environmental indicators, the authors demonstrate how IoT technology can not only monitor urban mobility patterns but also help forecast and promote low-emission alternatives.
This research aligns directly with SUTEE’s mission to showcase how smart technologies, such as sensors and data-driven tools, can be leveraged in educational settings to foster environmental consciousness among students and communities. While the article focuses on mobility, its methodology and vision for using IoT to generate actionable environmental insights resonate strongly with the project’s approach to urban trees as living laboratories for environmental education.
