Follow-up visit to Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex

As a continuation of the collaborative discussions initiated earlier this year, members of the SUTEE team and students from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid were invited to visit the Real Madrid training complex in Valdebebas.

The visit offered a closer look at the club’s experimental turf management field, where staff explained in detail how they monitor and care for their professional-grade grass surfaces. In addition to the turf, the team had the chance to learn about the landscaped areas of the facility, where special attention is given to native species like the strawberry tree (madroño), a symbol of Madrid, as well as white and purple flowering plants representing the colors of the Real Madrid crest.

This visit further deepened the dialogue on the educational potential of sports-environment intersections and how SUTEE’s goals in environmental education through technology can align with Real Madrid’s sustainability practices.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Real Madrid for welcoming us once again. We look forward to continuing this promising collaboration and bringing new opportunities for student engagement in the near future.
